Brady Lewis, who is running for Perry City Council stated, “Having a career outside of politics is precisely what qualifies me for this temporary service.”
While helping with the 2012 Mitt Romney presidential campaign, he was encouraged and inspired to serve the community through political office. Though his intentions were to begin later in life, neighbors and some people from the campaign trail helped him see that he could make valuable contributions now.
As a member of the City Council, Mr. Lewis plans to take immediate action to attract first class businesses to Perry to increase revenue. He hopes in this way to open the door to conversations about new services, and will listen to the people of Perry for input as those conversations begin.
Mr. Lewis also hopes to bring skills he has learned through running businesses to the table. Among them are: critical thinking, un-emotional objectivism, and creative problem solving. He also believes the government should not be involved in speculative ventures that belong in the private sector.
“Perry City shouldn't ever align itself with any type of organization that can reach into the pockets of its citizens while ignoring and refusing services,” he states.
