Esther Montgomery would like to encourage businesses to come to the City. She wants to make sure that several of the ongoing projects are completed and that the citizens are aware of the projects. There are two telecommunication towers that have been approved to be built on City-owned land. Open communications with UTA and UDOT over two extensive projects: Front-runner commuter train and a diverging diamond interchange on 1100 South to help with the flow of traffic on and off I-15.
Ms. Montgomery has a concern over how many laws are being passed, and with every ordinance we are being told what, where, and how we can do this or that, and that our Constitutional rights are being restricted. This is something everyone needs to be aware of now and in the future.
She believes the role of city government is not to restrict, but to provide the infrastructure to the citizens. She won’t make important decisions until she has all the facts and weighs the impact on herself and fellow citizens.
Ms. Montgomery has spent time in the Army Reserves, where leadership is of the up most importance. She has been involved with the planning commission over the last few years. She has served on the school board at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning, where she had just resigned to pursue being a Perry City Council member.
