Karen Cronin believes one of the most important items to address is the economic development of the City. It is vital to provide employment to the member of the community so their financial needs are meet. This increases the tax bases for continued growth. As the population continues to grow, the Perry area will see a surge of new residential and commercial developments. Growth needs to be carefully planned and managed to ensure infrastructure, utilities and emergency services are in place. As the Wasatch Front population continues to expand north from Weber County, Perry City will see a large surge of new residential and commercial developments. This growth will need to be prudently planned for and carefully managed to ensure infrastructure, utilities, technical, and emergency services are generated in a financially responsible manner and meet the needs of a diverse population.
Ms. Cronin has a strong belief in limited government and in transparency of government at all levels. She is a fiscal conservative, and is determined to work to utilize public resources in an efficient manner. She believes that government officials are responsible to best represent all the people not just further their own agenda. She has served as a Perry City Council member for the past 4 years, and she has worked on several boards with in the Perry City government as a RDA board member and with the planning commission. She also serves as a Box Elder School board member and has had many experiences on a number of other board and committees within the community. She brings to the table her experience of being a financial director of a private company and a past project manager at ATK over the master scheduling and contract compliance. She is a citizen and a taxpayer of Perry City and wants to help with the future of the City.
