Please note: Due to the A/B schedule mentioned in the previous email, there will NOT be an early out in April. The May early out will remain as scheduled.
Dear Parents:
In an effort to give our students the best opportunity to demonstrate their academic gains this year, we are planning to implement an A/B schedule (similar to that of the high schools) during the four weeks of the SAGE testing window.
Beginning Monday, April 18, 2016, each class will be scheduled for approximately 90 minutes every other day except Friday. Fridays will be a regular seven-period schedule. This new schedule will enable students to complete all testing segments in one sitting without interruption. Mondays and Wednesdays, (periods: 1, 2, 3, 4), will be designated as ‘A’ days, and Tuesdays and Thursdays, (periods: Edvisory, 5, 6 & 7), will be designated as ‘B’ days. We will resume our regular 7-period daily schedule on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Attached you will find a printed A/B schedule.
This testing schedule was very effective in another junior high school in our district last year. We hope this will help our students have a more positive experience with the end-of-level testing. Thank you for your continued support.
