NOTICE: PINE VIEW SECONDARY WATER USERS
Pine View Water Systems is asking everyone to immediately reduce their water use by at least 50% for the remainder of the watering season through October 1, 2013. Due to the extremely hot and dry summer the water supplies are very low. It will be helpful to carryover as much as possible into the winter for use next year.
WATER CONSERVATION IS CRITICAL
Please cut back watering for the remainder of August to once every 5 days and in September to once every 7 days. If this is not adhered to we will be out of water by mid-September. Please CLIP this NOTICE and share it with neighbors, friends, local religious leaders as well as local city officials.
School is in session! Whether your kids carpool, take the bus, or walk to school—it’s important to go over applicable safety rules like wearing a seatbelt, staying on the sidewalk, waiting for the bus at a safe distance, only crossing at corners, walking a safe mapped route, looking both ways, etc. Below are a few safety tips all of us can remember to be safe pedestrians.
We want to let you know that the Utah Department of Transportation will be starting a construction project this month that will continue for the next 12 to 15 months. UDOT will be building a completely new and improved “Diverging Diamond” interstate interchange at 1100 South on I-15. Because of this, you may want to use H-89 as an alternate route during peak traffic times (our police will be providing extra patrol on H-89 during this time frame).
Weeds: Please be sure to keep your weeds cut down to prevent unnecessary fires. Our fire marshals have warned us that the weather has been very hot and vegetation is very dry this year. We want to keep everyone’s property as safe as possible.
Keeping Perry Safe (Police & Traffic): We have been reviewing our recent police statistics (and comparing them to past years’ statistics). There continues to be a significant drop in most types of crime. The Perry City Police Department has focused considerable effort on keeping our schools safe, as well as our businesses on Highway 89 and at Pointe Perry. At the July 25th City Council meeting, two of our police officers (Sgt. Juan Trujillo and Sgt. Scott Hancey) were recognized for outstanding service. We just finished our once every three years “BCI Audit,” in which the State of Utah gave us the best possible scores for our police services herein Perry City. Susan Obray, our City Recorder and Police Secretary, reported on the specifics of the BCI Audit at the August 8th City Council meeting.
