What would you like your fellow citizens to know about you?

A.  I was born and raised in Box Elder County where I gained a strong appreciation for our agricultural heritage. My parents both owned businesses and taught me how to work hard. I served a 2-year mission in Mexico, where I learned the invaluable lessons of service and faith. Upon returning, I immediately married my wife (10 years) and flung myself into entrepreneurial endeavors. I helped grow the family business and founded a software company. Our life presently consists of growing the businesses and our family. We have a 7 year-old girl and twin 2 year-old boys. I'm a patriot, a man of faith, and I love this community and its people.

Some things I think qualify me for public service are:

1. I have a passion for solving problems. I like difficult issues.
2. I know how to build efficient systems. In business that means profit, in government it means lower taxes and better services.
3. I know how to leverage opposing viewpoints to find mutually advantageous solutions. I love brainstorming and collaboration. 
4. I worked on the presidential campaign for Mitt Romney. I connected with amazing people and learned a great deal about political systems in America.
5. I own two businesses, so I know how to budget, innovate, scrape, reason, and lead.
6. I am young enough to implement technology, yet mature enough to make wise decisions. 
7. I like to meet new people and love good conversation.

Politically speaking, I tend to be a fiscal conservative, social moderate—Libertarian leaning Republican. I believe that the strength of our nation directly correlates with our moral code, which is strongest when we look to God for inspiration.

What would you change in your city?

The people of Perry want a library, a splash pad, lower fees, roads, more street lights, etc. Those services are best funded with business development at Pointe Perry and North-West Perry. My business development experience will enable me to attract and land businesses. I will protect and preserve Perry's agriculture and small-town feel, while capitalizing on strategically placed business centers to offer convenience, boost revenue, lower fees, and provide more public services.

Why are you running?

I "woke up" to national politics in 2008 with the presidential election, and in 2012 helped the Mitt Romney campaign. After meeting some amazing people and seeing the good they could do, I vowed I'd serve the public some day. After learning about local issues, seeing the current needs of our City, and being asked to run, I am running
