Lee Applauds Fifth Circuit Decision Upholding Injunction of Obama’s Executive Amnesty Program
WASHINGTON – Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) issued the following statement Tuesday, following the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit decision affirming a federal district court’s nationwide injunction against President Obama’s Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents program.
“The Fifth Circuit has issued a strong and well-reasoned opinion upholding an injunction that temporarily blocks President Obama’s lawless executive amnesty program,” Lee said. “Our immigration system does need reform. But the reform must be debated and passed by Congress, not unilaterally imposed on the American people by the executive branch."
