FIT FOR A KING
SET TO TOUR THIS FALL
DECEMBER 12 | THE COMPLEX | SALT LAKE CITY, UT
October 18, 2017 - Fit For A King recently announced they will be heading out on tour this fall with In Hearts Wake. Like Moths To Flames and Phinehas will accompany the bands on the road, kicking off in St. Louis, and hitting cities including Chicago, Baltimore, New York, Nashville, Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle. Tickets are on sale now at fitforakingband.com
The band recently finished up playing Vans Warped Tour, as well as released their album Deathgrip last year. Fans can stream the album on Spotify, or purchase on iTunes, here.
Fit For A King mesmerized fans with 2016's Deathgrip and its honest and emotional depictions of death and devastation. Spurred by the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris, Fit For A King aimed and succeeded in turning harrowing times into a heart-wrenching record. Founded in Tyler, Texas the band has been building their fan base since their previous releases Descendants and Creation/Destruction. They've been praised by HMMagazine, Loudwire, Revolver, Alternative Press and more for their powerful and thought-provoking brand of Christian metalcore. Although their presence in rock music is sizable, their egos aren't. Bobby Lynge remarked that, "more than anything, we want our fans to be our friends, and we want to stand out as gentleman."

With many students cramming for the next SAT test on Dec. 2, I'm writing to suggest a timely story idea for Weber Sentinel News on a survey that asks, "Is the final nail in the coffin for the SAT?”
Students who were the first cohort to take the new SAT (launched in 2016) have strong feelings about its major changes. That's according to the State of the SAT Survey, conducted by the researchers at Magoosh [https://magoosh.com]—an online solution that gives everyone access to enjoyable, affordable, and quality test prep. Magoosh polled its user base across the U.S. on the new SAT.
According to the survey:
Although educators thought the new SAT's expanded reading and writing sections would give students trouble, students still think math is the hardest section (44%).
Regardless of the overall positive response to the new SAT, 94% of students would recommend the ACT over the SAT.
These results pose the question: Has the SAT lost its dominance?
For those taking the Dec. 2 SAT, surveyed students recommend:

KNEADERS BAKERY & CAFE AND HUNTSMAN CANCER FOUNDATION
TO ANNOUNCE DONATION IN SUPPORT OF CHILDHOOD CANCER RESEARCH
KNEADERS CUSTOMERS RALLIED TO SUPPORT INNOVATIVE CANCER RESEARCH INVOLVING ELEPHANT DNA FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — On November 14th, Kneaders Bakery & Café, will announce the results of their “Hope Fights Childhood Cancer Campaign,” with Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF).
During the entire month of September, all Kneaders Bakery & Café locations throughout the nation sold elephant-shaped sugar cookies and “Hope Fights Childhood Cancer” Campaign-themed retail items to benefit the groundbreaking work of Dr. Joshua Schiffman, world-renowned oncologist, hematologist, teen cancer survivor and respected cancer researcher. Schiffman’s team at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) has learned that elephants rarely get cancer and are working around the clock to make advances in fighting cancer for people of all ages by studying elephant DNA (specifically the p53 gene).
One-hundred-percent of the sales of the specialty cookies will be used to further Schiffman’s research. Proceeds from the specialty retail items will also benefit Dr. Schiffman’s work.
WHAT: Media are invited to attend a press conference and event celebrating the donation announcement.
WHY: Each year in the United States almost 16,000 children between the ages of birth and 19 years of age are diagnosed with cancer. Elephants have 40 cancer fighting proteins in their DNA which means they rarely get cancer, while humans only have two cancer fighting proteins in their DNA.
