DAVID WEEKLEY HOMES BUILDS BEDS FOR SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE
Salt Lake City, UT (June 15, 2018): David Weekley Homes recently partnered with 18 local nonprofit organizations across the country through the company’s CARE Build Month projects.
In Salt Lake City, the project benefitted Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit dedicated to building and delivering assembled bunk beds to families in need so every child can have a comfortable and safe place to sleep at night. Approximately 20 Weekley team members, family and friends joined together to build and assemble seven sets of bunk beds for families who lack the financial resources and are unable to afford the cost of a bed, bedding and other basic needs.
“It was so rewarding to be able to build beds for children who do not have a dedicated place to sleep,” said Sarah Gass, marketing coordinator for David Weekley Homes in Salt Lake City.
This project benefitted 14 children by providing a bed frame, mattress, bedding and pillow. The project included a donation of $1,750 in lumber, bedding and mattresses, 50 volunteer hours from David Weekley Homes team members and a monetary donation of $3,000 for the purchase of additional mattresses.
“I am humbled by the generosity I see from people like the David Weekley Homes team!” said Matt McEwen, chapter chair for Sleep in Heavenly Peace. “It is so amazing to be a part of this and see how many good people there are out there. Thank you so much!”
The project was an initiative of the company’s CARE program, which is a charitable and volunteer program that partners team members, homeowners, homebuyers and community partners with nonprofits to make a positive impact in the lives of everyone it touches and in all the communities it builds through its purpose, Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives. This is accomplished by company team members volunteering countless hours to different organizations in their communities and by The David Weekley Family Foundation donating more than $100 million to a variety of organizations through the U.S. and abroad over the past 20 years.

Today, PVMNTS is granting the world's wishes for more music with the premiere of "Standing (On My Own Two Feet)" with Alternative Press. This release comes with the promise of even more music as the band has announced their debut EP Better Days will be released August 17th. "Tyler wrote this song during the passing of his mother so there's a lot of emotion in writing and recording this song. It's basically about when you hit a point in your life where your life will change and there's nothing you can do about. The only control that you have is deciding whether or not it's going to fuck you up or you take a positive route and do something good with what you've just been through" shares the band on this first anthemic lead single, which will hit all digital streaming platforms tomorrow.
Behind the scenes, Freddy Ramirez (vocals, guitar, bass), Tyler Posey (vocals, bass, guitar) and Nick Guzman (drums) have been working toward this for nearly a decade, long before officially forming PVMNTS in late 2016. As bandmates in Lost In Kostko, Ramirez and Posey honed their pop-punk chops-a musical torch Ramirez and Guzman would later carry in various projects.
It's the culmination of those years of hard work and collaboration that's led to Better Days, PVMNTS' debut EP: a collection of undeniable pop-punk that seamlessly blends old- and new-school influences together with the muscular edge of the mid-2000s underground scene.
Produced by Kyle Black (New Found Glory, State Champs), Better Days is the sound of a band unafraid to dig deep within themselves to tackle topics of depression, anxiety, death and self-doubt-offering a lyrical heft to match their musical bite. PVMNTS shared that "with only 6 songs to debut our sound, we wanted to make sure this little EP was as eclectic as possible. There is lots of heavy emotion mixed with light hearted and uplifting tunes."

UTAH SENATE REQUESTS PUBLIC COMMENT ON FOURTH DISTRICT JUVENILE COURT NOMINEE
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee is seeking public comment on Scott Davis who was appointed by Governor Herbert to fill a vacancy on the Fourth District Juvenile Court.
