The Utah Republican Party is working hard preparing for the 2018 Caucus and Convention. Your State and County Party Officers are working to introduce tools and software to make your Caucus night efficient and informative. Updates regarding these new tools will follow in later emails, but first I wanted to share information regarding current events.
I am very pleased with the hard work that has been done to pay down the State Party's debts and obligations. This work has also brought to the table a very generous offer from Mr. David Bateman. We are currently in contract negotiations with him to pay off the Party's long standing legal debt. Attached is a timeline of these negotiations.
Additionally, A meeting of the Party's State Central Committee was improperly called recently by a small portion of the members. This Invalid meeting will not be held, but still the call has caused some confusion. Attached is a explaination to help clarify this issue.
I trust that this season finds you well, and wish you and your family, health and happiness.
Merry Christmas

Conservative activist group files a lawsuit over Los Angeles County ‘inactive voter’ list
(LA Times) A Washington-based conservative-leaning activist group filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday alleging Los Angeles County officials are “refusing to cancel the registrations” of voters who are ineligible to cast a ballot.
The legal action by Judicial Watch comes four months after the organization first accused elections officials across the state of maintaining registration lists that are larger than their voting-age population. The lawsuit also names Secretary of State Alex Padilla as a defendant and alleges the voter lists violate the National Voter Registration Act, or NVRA.
“They don’t care about removing ineligible registration,” said Robert Popper of Judicial Watch. “I think we have a very strong lawsuit.”

Obama State Dept Made Deal With Hillary Allowing Removal Of Records. Here’s What They Removed
(Daily Wire) Newly-revealed documents obtained by conservative watchdog Judicial Watch reveal that the Obama State Department allowed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her top aide Huma Abedin to remove sensitive documents that were not to be made public records. Judicial Watch received the records on Thursday in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that sought all DS-1904 forms completed by or on behalf of Former Secretary Hillary Clinton, Former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, Former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin, and Former Deputy Chief of Staff Jacob Sullivan. Clinton and Abedin were permitted to remove both electronic and physical records, claiming “they were ‘personal’ materials and ‘unclassified, non-record materials,’ including files of Clinton’s calls and schedules, which were not to be made public.” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton noted the gravity of the latest revelations, stating they showed further corruption in the Obama administration and with Clinton.

Conservative group sues FBI for records on agent dismissed from Mueller probe
(The Hill) A conservative watchdog group said Thursday that it has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit into the FBI’s removal and reassignment of a top counterintelligence official from special counsel Robert Mueller’s team probing Russian meddling in the U.S. election.
Judicial Watch announced it had filed the lawsuit for all employment forms and records of FBI agent Peter Strzok’s involvement in the Russia case after it said the FBI failed to respond to its prior FOIA request in August.
The group is also requesting all “related records of communication” between FBI employees or representatives.
“It is disturbing the FBI has stonewalled our request about the Mr. Strzok demotion for four months,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.
“One can only conclude the FBI and Justice Department (including Mr. Mueller’s operation) wanted to hide the truth about how Strzok’s and Page’s political biases and misconduct have compromised both the Clinton email and Russia collusion investigations.”
