The State Board of Education has voted to waive the make-up snow days. School will NOT be held on Monday, February 20th, and Friday, March 3rd. Enjoy your three-day weekend!
Willard Elementary Parent/Teacher conferences & Book Fair are scheduled for February 22 & 23. Come join in all the fun of the book fair, books for all ages.
Willard students are selling candy bars ($1.00) for a fund raiser for the school PTA, which plans on using the money to pay for the buses for field trips. Last year, they were able to raise enough money to pay the entry fee and the buses for the students to go on an end-of-the-year field trip. The fund raiser goes until March 1st.
One of the school buses caught on fire last week. This buses children for both Willard and Three Mile Creek. There were no children on the bus at the time, and the driver was able to pull over by the store. The fire was quickly put out by the Willard fire department.
Notice of 2017 Municipal Election
Notice is hereby given that Willard City will be holding a Municipal Election on November 7, 2017. Positions available are: Mayor and (2) City Council positions - each are 4 year terms. Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted beginning June 1, 2017. . Declarations of Candidacy must be filed in person with the City Recorder during office hours 8 am to 5 pm, June 1, 2017 through June 7, 2017 (excluding Saturday and Sunday).
Each year, public water systems are required to prepare and make available a Consumer Confidence Report. The 2016 Willard City Water Consumer Confidence Report is now available. You can review it on line by going to the Willard City site or you can review it at the Willard City offices during regular business hours.
It’s never too early to plan for emergencies, but it is all too often too late. CERT Classes are scheduled to begin February 22, 2017. This will be the full training. The dates for classes are February 22, 25, 28, March 2 & 4. Weekday classes are from 6:00 pm -9:30 pm and Saturday classes are from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. This is great information to help your family become prepared when an emergency hits. An emergency can be as little as the power being out for more than a couple of hours or the water turned off because of a line break to a major disaster such as an earthquake. Are you prepared??? Note from Chief Loveland: The roads over the winter have had a lot of damage done, you need to be prepared for flat tires. Please check see that your spare is pumped up and you have proper tools, jack and flashlight for those emergencies that happen. We have a great number of people experiencing flat tires, especially if you go north on the interstate towards Tremonton. It’s going to take a while for all the pot holes to get fixed and right now it’s not the time of year for the fixes to stay. When it warms up the fixes work better.
