"When you first get here, you think that you are in some sort of fairy-tale novel," says Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo. "They wine and dine you and they show you just exactly what it's like if you play the game."

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, signed legislation to join the balanced budget compact, saying: "With nearly $20 trillion in debt, a burden which will be paid for by our kids and grandkids, it's time states took action to say, 'Enough is enough.'"
