Dear Republican Caucus Attendee:
Thank you for making the choice to attend your neighborhood Caucus. Utah, and just a few other states, utilize this unique meeting method as part of the candidate selection process. We believe it has significantly enabled Utah to be the best managed State in the nation.

We hope you have a positive experience, and that you will encourage your neighbors to participate as well. The people running these meetings are also your neighbors, and are volunteers. Please be patient as they register everyone in attendance, and as they conduct the meeting, run the delegate elections and count your votes.
Two types of delegates will be elected at your meeting and will serve two (2) year terms: State Delegates and County Delegates. State Delegates will attend the UTGOP Conventions, and the County Delegates will attend your County GOP Conventions. These delegates will be tasked with such responsibilities as:
1. How to make precinct caucus voting more accessible for those who can't attend? Are there ways to improve the caucus system? Would you like to see the process modernized?
2. Would you like your delegates to report back to you on how they vote on candidates? Issues? Policy changes?
3. Should Convention rules be modified to have more candidates chosen by delegates or in primary elections?
4. Who to elect as party officers? Who to elect as members of the State Central Committee?
5. What issues to include in the party platform?
6. How to pay for party conventions? On average, the UTGOP Convention costs $60,000 to $100,000 per year.
Make sure you elect delegates who will represent your views on the issues that matter to you. Ask questions of the candidates before voting. You can also run for a delegate position, and we encourage you to do so. We also encourage more women and millennials to run for delegate positions, as these two demographics are historically under-represented.
