Salt Lake City, UT - May 19, 2016 - Experimental post-hardcore band Eidola is thrilled to announce that they have premiered their new single "The Abstract Of A Planet In Resolve" today via Metal Insider. Fans can stream the song now, here: https://goo.gl/C5yzOP. It comes from the band's new album To Speak, To Listen which will be released on June 2nd, 2017 via Blue Swan Records and was produced by Dryw Owens (A Lot Like Birds, From Indian Lakes). In support of the upcoming album, Eidola will be hitting the road this spring with Hail The Sun & Capsize. For more information or to pre-order the album, please visit: www.eidola.merchnow.com
On the new track, the band shares: "'Abstract' was composed as an overture for To Speak, To Listen. A song that sort of serves as a compendium for the content you're about to hear. The song is one of shortest and most straightforward pieces we've ever written, which is exactly how an overture is supposed to be. Short, sweet, dynamic, catchy, and a prelude for aspects of everything the listener is about to experience."
Eidola is a five-piece progressive post-hardcore band formed in 2011. After a year of touring on their debut self-released album The Great Glass Elephant in 2012, the band signed on with Blue Swan Records to release Degeneraterra in 2015. With the album receiving acclaim from critics and fans alike, the band embarked on a series of tours with bands like Dance Gavin Dance, CHON, Hail The Sun, and Stolas. Now Eidola is back with their most ambitious and aggressive effort yet, To Speak, To Listen.

LEGISLATIVE LEADERS ISSUE STATEMENT ON SEPARATION OF POWERS
SALT LAKE CITY - Today, Utah legislative leaders expressed concern with executive branch overreach. Speaker of the House Greg Hughes, House Minority Leader Brian King, Senate President Wayne Niederhauser, and Senate Minority Leader Gene Davis issued the following statement:
"We express our concern with Governor Herbert's decision to call an election without allowing the legislature to exercise its clear constitutional responsibility. Establishing election procedures in law is clearly a role given to the legislature by the U.S. Constitution. Separation of powers is one of the most fundamental principles of our government and a vigilant guard against abuse of power. Nowhere is the executive branch given the authority to establish election procedures."
A more comprehensive statement on the subject posted today at Utah Policy Daily.
