The Three Mile Creek sport park hosted a range day on June 13th where a fee could be paid to field test guns and optics. The guns ranged from 1911 pistols, short and long range rifles, different kinds of Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 rifles, Browning Lever Action 22s, and a Ruger 10/22 rifle with the opportunity to use Tru Glo Optics. A lot of people came to enjoy the day at the park. Smith and Edwards thanks the sponsors: Springfield Armory, Perry City, Crimson Trace, Tru Glo Optics, Nemo Firearms, Desert Tech, & Taylor Targets.

There have been a number of subdivision applications in the works the Taylor’s Cove (previously named Wendy Jensen Subdivision) on Hill Haven Drive, the Christensen Estates at 2815 South 775 West with Orchard View Estates at 1850 South 100 West all being approved to move ahead.

Perry City is welcoming a new full time officer with the Perry Police department. Joe Thomas has worked for the City as a part time officer for the last six months. He has recently been an officer in North Ogden full time for the last year and half.

Perry City has a number of things planned for the 4th of July with softball games that have already started on June 30th. A Buckaroo Rodeo, concessions and a movie in the park took place on July 1st. On Wednesday July 2nd, the softball games continue with a baby contest, Miss Liberty/Uncle Sam contest, followed by “Perry’s Got Talent” at the Heritage Theatre. July 3rd the softball games continue with a dance “Under the Stars” at Perry park from 9-11. The fireworks display will be at the Perry Park at 10:00 pm on the night of July 3rd. The day of the 4th they want everyone to come join in for a day of fun. Activities include a 5K/1 mile run, breakfast in the park with the first responders, a car show at Dale Young Park. There will be booths, games, contests & softball games to round out the day’s activities.

Perry is welcoming a new business at Perry Pointe, which is located on the west side of the freeway across from the LW’s gas station and Dairy Queen. This area has been zoned and planned for a large business complex. The business is a small framing-type store that will open in the fall.

The Peak will be hosting a big family friendly event of the summer. Help a local family while having fun with yours! Splash & Dash Family Triathlon will be held on July 12th, with proceeds going to benefit the Tayton Winward Fund (One of the boys involved in the Perry fire incident). Come join in the fun!

* Intermediate: Swim 8 lengths - Bike 3 miles - Run 1 mile

* Advanced: Swim 12 lengths - Bike 4 miles - Run 2 miles
