The president pledges to push for "phase two" tax cuts in remarks at the White House’s gathering of millennials, a key voting bloc that benefited from last year’s tax relief package.
Public school teachers who support the Second Amendment say they are being required to finance political activism they oppose, such as this weekend's March for Our Lives calling for more gun controls.
"The reality is that what the president is accomplishing from a policy standpoint is so historic and outstanding, even through the conservative lens," the White House strategic communications director tells The Daily Signal.
The House approved the massive spending package 256-167, but most dissenting votes came from Republicans, who hold the majority, not Democrats.
"The money spent was $138 billion over last year's omnibus—about $1,500 for every household in our country. That’s an increase of about 18 percent over last year. That’s not limited government," Rep. Ted Budd writes.
