AT&T Debuts New Retail Store Design in North Ogden

Designed for an Evolution in Connected Entertainment

OGDEN, Utah, April 24, 2019 – AT&T* has debuted a new entertainment-focused retail store at Crossroads in North Ogden (2550 North Washington Boulevard). We designed the store to help you get your hands on the entertainment content you want anytime, anywhere and on any device.

The new store design reflects the changing ways our customers use their mobile devices for entertainment. In the last year alone, video traffic on our network grew over 75%. In our new store, you can interact with content across many different screens and find the best video, internet and wireless options available from AT&T. This unique store joins our lineup of nearly 60 AT&T owned and authorized retail stores in Utah.

“Our customers want more. Their experience in our new North Ogden store is designed for that – more entertainment, more data and more value,” said Amanda Harris, vice president and general manager, AT&T-Rocky Mountain Region. “We want to help family, friends and neighbors in Weber County connect in meaningful ways every day.”

Some key features of the new store format are:

·        Entertainment, everywhere. Our new stores illustrate the intersection of content and connection. We train our reps to show how services, like DIRECTV and DIRECTV NOW and products can add value to your connected life.

·        Smartphones and more. We’ve moved the phones off the walls to the center of the store to make it easier to compare and choose what’s best for you. We also have two focus areas to show the most popular brands that have products like AR glasses, tablets or smartwatches that work with your smartphone. We expanded our lineup of accessories, and we’ve made them easier to find.

·        A comfortable experience. We’ve designed these stores for you to have a personal connection with our reps and services. And we know selecting a phone, plan and sometimes adding TV and home broadband to your list takes longer than grabbing a shirt off the rack.  So we added comfortable areas where you and our reps can work together.

The hours of operation for the new store in North Ogden are: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday.

How can teachers learn more about computer science?

The biggest challenge in providing students with equitable access to computer science is that there are still not enough teachers to teach it. The biggest misconception that schools and teachers have about teaching computer science is that it would take years of preparation.

To address these barriers, Code.org offers professional development programs for existing teachers who want to begin teaching computer science.

Code.org has helped prepare nearly 100,000 elementary, middle, and high school teachers to offer computer science, 98 percent of whom say they would recommend the program to another teacher. Many of these teachers had no prior experience teaching computer science before taking Code.org's workshops.

Seats are still available, many at no cost, for the 2019 Code.org Professional Learning Program for middle and high school teachers. This program begins with an engaging five-day, in-person summer workshop and continues with four additional one-day follow-up workshops throughout the year. Dates and locations are assigned by region. No-cost, one-day professional development workshops for elementary teachers are available regionally year-round.
