Romance & Rebellion

Release Lyric Video For

New Single "BOYS DON'T CRY"

Watch HERE

Los Angeles, CA - January 29, 2018 - LA-based pop-rockers, Romance & Rebellion have released a lyric video for their new single "BOYS DON'T CRY." Watch and listen HERE. The single is off of the band's sophomore EP, Amps & Anthems, which debuted earlier this month.

On "BOYS DON'T CRY," vocalist David LaViola shares, "Boys don't have to be 'boys'...girls don't have to be 'girls'...and everyone should be able to rock a little pink.  'BOYS DON'T CRY' is an anthem for anyone who is anything but normal."

Produced by Warren Huart (Aerosmith, James Blunt, Korn), Stefan Litrownik (One Direction, Andy Grammer), and Lennon Leppert (Over Atlantic) Amps & Anthems is a 4-track EP that tears out all of the romantic innocence you've come to expect from Romance & Rebellion; distorts it, and cranks up the volume. On their new music, LaViola says, "These four tracks are filled with emo-studded angst, dripping with candy-coated heartache, wrapped in youthfully rebellious pop rock."

Romance & Rebellion was established in 2015 in Echo Park, CA. By the end of that year, the band had created a buzz around themselves solely using social media and live performances, and soon there after was recognized by pop producer Stefan Litrownik. After the release of their debut EP in June 2016, they had to opportunity to take the stage at influential festivals such as Warped Tour and SXSW, and even headlined Emo Nite LA.

YMCA’S Y I SKI IS LAUNCHING ITS FIFTH YEAR

Do you live in Utah but have never skied before?  Then the Y I Ski Program is for you!

Salt Lake City, January 29th, 2018 - The National Winter Sports Education Foundation is proud to sponsor the YMCA of Northern Utah’s Y I Ski Program. The Y I Ski Program is affordable and fun, and includes lessons, lift passes, transportation and equipment rental. Sessions are provided at Solitude Mountain Resort, Utah Olympic Park, Snowbasin Resort, Nordic Valley Resort and Ogden Nordic.

Although we live so close to world renowned resorts, not all Utah families have the means to provide their kids with winter sport lessons. The purpose of this program is to give all children the chance to participate by offering an affordable youth winter sports education program. Financial assistance is available to families who aren’t able to afford the program.

Gloria Tapia, mother of two girls who are in Y I Ski Program, explained their experience. “My two daughters, Isabella and Cecilia, have participated in the YMCA’s Y I Ski Program for the last three years. I never had the opportunity to participate in any activity or program as a child. I wanted my daughters to learn how to ski and be active during the winter months in Utah. They were afraid that they would not learn to ski but they ended up loving the program. Each year, they are learning new skills. The YMCA staff is AMAZING! They helped answer all my questions and without their financial assistance, I would not be able to afford any ski lessons for Isabella and Cecilia.”

The Y I Ski Program offers multiple sessions that includes five lessons that teach kids in the Salt Lake City and Ogden areas the skills they need for Alpine, Nordic, Freestyle, and Snowboard. This program is for children ages 7-17.  Program will take place from January 2018 through April 2018. Registration for the last session closes on February 16th.

The YMCA is committed to encouraging healthy lifestyles, the Y I Ski Program is a great opportunity for kids to find a new, healthy passion to keep them active in the winter. To learn more visit www.ymcautah.org/yiski

Ogden Nature Center's bird paradise featured in Utah Life Magazine

PROVO, Utah, Jan. 25, 2018- Migratory birds find an inviting urban oasis at the Ogden Nature Center, the subject of a feature in the upcoming issue of Utah Life Magazine. In the story in the statewide publication's March/ April 2018 issue, Provo writer Olivia Snow tells the tales of the dedicated humans who create an inviting home for their avian friends in the heart of Ogden. Great wildlife photography complements the article.

"At the Ogden Nature Center, the early bird doesn't just get the worm - it also gets to choose between nesting in the cowboy boot or the sand castle," Snow writes. "Birdhouses of all shapes and sizes, from mini-trailers to carved-out gourds, dot the grounds of the nature center, which is nestled in the city of Ogden between 1-15, a high school and a warehouse. The center's tall trees conceal the urban backdrop, creating a pocket of nature in the middle of town."

The nature center nurses injured birds of prey back to health and gives them a safe home. Perhaps the biggest bird celebrity at the preserve is Des Ta Te, a female bald eagle who first came here as a baby 15 years ago. She has formed a deep bond with falconer Bryce King. When the eagle laid eggs, she refused to leave her nest to seek food until King took her place to keep the eggs warm.

The Ogden Nature Center story appears in Utah Life's March/ April 2018 issue. Other stories include a photo-filled feature on the forbiddingly beautiful Maze District of Canyon lands National Park, a look at the historic Cove Fort near Beaver, Utah recipes and profiles of the artists who interpret life our state.

Utah Life subscriber publishes six issues a year in celebration of the nature, history, wildlife and people of Utah. Stories range from quirky roadside attractions, to stunning photo essays, to colorful character profiles. For subscription information, Utahns can visit UtahlifeMag.com or call (801) 921-4585. It is also available statewide on newsstands beginning March 1.
