Dog Licenses: Notices have been sent out to those who registered dogs last year. A rabies clinic is scheduled January 6, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the fire station. Vaccinations are offered at a reduced cost.  License renewals are due January 31, 2018.

There have been a number of items that have come to the attention of the City offices and we are reminding you to help where you can.

As the weather starts getting colder, our drivers have noticed that even if it seems like the ashes have burned out, it can possibly re-light as a container is dumped and exposed to the wind and air. Several residents have been putting ashes from fireplaces into their trash cans. Please remind residents that ashes should NEVER be placed in any waste or recycling container. This is a huge concern for us, as it could potentially cause serious damage to our equipment and can put our drivers in danger.

We’ve also been seeing a lot of containers that are overloaded, and a lot of extra trash and boxes piled on or around the containers. If the lid on a container is open more than 2 inches, it is considered overloaded. Dumping overloaded containers causes messes that our drivers do not have time to clean up. It is also difficult to grab a container that is surrounding by excess waste and boxes without making a mess as well. We would like to help keep your City as clean and sanitary as possible, so please know that if waste does not fit into the container, contact the City to order another one.

Snow Parking??? Chief Loveland would like residents to help by voluntarily moving vehicles, trailers, etc. from the City right-of-way to aid in snow removal. We are concerned for the safety of our snow plow drivers and want to avoid damaging the City equipment and your property. If the snow cannot be pushed off the asphalt, it melts across the road and freezes during the cold nighttime hours. This causes hazardous conditions for drivers and pedestrians. If necessary, vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Please make sure to remove snow and frost from all windows to have a clear view of the road. Make sure windshield wipers are in good working order and check the windshield washer fluid. Deer are also migrating across Highway 89. Please keep an eye out for them in both the daytime and nighttime. Texting while driving is illegal and talking on your phone while driving is also distracting. Please slow down and keep both eyes on the road. Many of our Police Officers and Emergency Responders have nearly been hit by vehicles while responding to accidents. Slow down and move over for emergency vehicles.

Please keep the City right-of-way clear of debris and remember to move trailers and vehicles well off the road. Do not plow the snow from your driveway into the streets as it freezes and damages the snow plows as well as creates a hazard for motorists and pedestrians. It is also a violation of City Code!
