With certainty that our nation’s elected officials and citizens should all understand the complex issues facing the children and families caught up in the child welfare system, Fostering Media Connections has created “Kids on the Hill.” This special legislative issue focuses on federal child welfare policy and key issues affecting vulnerable children and families.
The stories in “Kids on the Hill” will deal with issues such as opioids and their contribution to rising foster care numbers, immigration policy involving minors and how education services can play a role in outcomes for foster youth. Interviews with members of Congress, a timeline of child welfare’s history, estimates of our nation’s foster home capacity and pending legislation are also included.
If you would like to order copies of Kids on the Hill, please contact FMC’s business development manager Bryan Curiel at bryan@fosteringmediaconnections.org or by phone at 213-265-7767. Individual copies are $5.95 each. Orders of 10 or more are $4.95 each.
Thank you for your attention and support!

In 2002, Fostering Families Today published "Answering the Call: Saving a Generation of Children," a story about how Pastor W.C. Martin, his wife Donna and 40 members of his congregation in Possum Trot, Texas had began adopting children from the state's foster care system. At that time, 70 children had already been adopted, and 10 other adoptions were being finalized.
Now, fifteen years later, we have an update. Texas-based reporter Beth Cortez-Neavel has written a feature story on how these children are faring as young adults. You can read the story here in The Chronicle of Social Change and here in Fostering Families Today.

We are urging an employee of a Utah based road builder or any type of federal contractor to call us anytime at 866-714-6466 if their employer is falsely claiming to be a woman or minority owned ”
— Utah Corporate Whistleblower Center
WASHINGTON , DC, USA, September 7, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Utah Corporate Whistleblower Center says, “We are urging an employee of a Utah based road builder or any type of federal contractor to call us anytime at 866-714-6466 if their employer is falsely claiming to be a woman or minority owned business. As we would like to discuss anytime the rewards for this type of information can be very significant." http://Utah.CorporateWhistleblower.Com
The Center believes that many companies misrepresent the nature of their ownership structure to gain an extremely unfair advantage when bidding for lucrative federal contracts. As an example, the US Department of Transportation mandates that 10% of federal highway jobs go to a minority or woman owned business. These federal contracts can be worth tens of millions of dollars for even a subcontractor. The whistleblower reward potential can potentially be substantial if a highway contractor or any type of business providing services to the federal government in Utah has misrepresented themselves as being a minority or woman owned business.
The Utah Corporate Whistleblower Center is saying, "If a white male appoints his wife falsely as CEO of a highway or road builder or heavy equipment company-it’s wrong-if she does not actually run the company. The federal bidding system designed to assist minority or women owned businesses obtain federal work contracts is very easy to manipulate. As an example, a Caucasian male could appoint his female wife president/CEO of a company providing food to federally funded school lunches in Salt Lake City, Provo, West Jordan, Sandy Hills, Ogden, Saint George or anywhere in Utah and then call the company a minority or woman owned business-even though his wife has nothing to do with operating or managing the business.
“If you work for a company that is falsely claiming to be a minority or woman owned to business in Utah to get an unfair competitive advantage on federal jobs or federal contract bidding-please call us anytime at 866-714-6466 and let’s explore the reward possibilities. Why sit on a potentially winning lotto ticket without ever knowing what it could have been worth.” http://Utah.CorporateWhistleblower.Com
Simple rules for a whistleblower from the Utah Corporate Whistleblower Center: Do not go to the government first if you are a potential whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing. The Utah Corporate Whistleblower Center says, “Major whistleblowers frequently go to the government thinking they will help. It’s a huge mistake. Do not go to the news media with your whistleblower information. Public revelation of a whistleblower’s information could destroy any prospect for a reward. Do not try to force a company/employer or individual to come clean about significant Medicare fraud, overbilling the federal government for services never rendered, multi-million-dollar state or federal tax evasion, or an Utah based company falsely claiming to be a minority owned business to get preferential treatment on federal or state projects. Come to us first, tell us what type of information you have, and if we think it’s sufficient, we will help you with a focus on you getting rewarded.
Unlike any group in the US the Corporate Whistleblower Center can assist a potential whistleblower with packaging or building out their information to potentially increase the reward potential. They will also provide the whistleblower with access to some of the most skilled whistleblower attorneys in the nation. For more information a possible whistleblower with substantial proof of wrongdoing in Utah can contact the Whistleblower Center at 866-714-6466 or contact them via their website at http://Utah.CorporateWhistleBlower.Com
