Attention: Parents of 11th Grade Students- The counselors will start scheduling individual Plan for College and Career Ready appointments on September 19th and will continue to schedule appointments for the next few months. Please watch for a postcard or email to come with your student’s specific day and time. If you would prefer to schedule a day and time please contact Alicia Harris at 435-734-4854 from 7:30-3:00. Limited evening appointments will be available in October and November. We look forward to seeing you and your student at this important meeting!

Dear Parents of Seniors: The 2017-2018 BEHS yearbook staff will be collecting pictures for the “Diapers to Diplomas
” and “Friends and Family” sections of the 2018 yearbook. We would like to include your senior student. Listed below is information about each section. “
Diapers to Diplomas”:
We are looking for a photo of your senior when they were younger (around two years old). The cost is $5.00 to have a picture included in this section. “Friends and Family
”: Family and/or friends can write a short note congratulating your senior. We would like the photo in this section of your student when they are older (preferably 7th grade and up). The cost to put a picture and short note (30 words or less) in this section is also $5.00. Please send: · A (non-returnable) baby picture of your senior (“Diapers to Diplomas” section). · A (non-returnable) picture for the “Friends and Family” section. · A short note to your senior to go with the picture in the “Friends and Family” section. (Please type the note). · Write his/her name, your name, and a telephone number on the back of all pictures. · Label the picture for “Diapers” or “Friends and Family”. · Money/check: $5.00 per picture ($10.00 for photos in both sections). The deadline to send in pictures/money for either section is Oct. 19th. We cannot take any pictures after that date. The Regents Scholarship Program Changes Sophomore and Junior Parents and Students The Utah System of Higher Education has announced major changes to the Regents Scholarship Program. The Regents Scholarship is a scholarship funded through our Utah Legislators. Eligibility rules and award amounts have recently changed. CampusDoor “Great Futures Start Here” Scholarship: There are 100 scholarships available for students who plan to further their education after high school.

Zumper Scholarship: $1,000 College Scholarship. Looking for outstanding students who have helped their classmates or community in a tremendous way. Maybe you started a club that raised $10,000 for charity, or championed recycling and sustainable practices across campus.

Elks National Foundation most Valuable Student Scholarship: This is for a high school senior who shows academic achievement, Leadership, and Financial Need.

Young Arts Scholarship: This scholarship is for students 10th-12th grade and are planning to pursue further education in any visual, performing, or literary arts and has shown excellence in that area.

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards: This scholarship ranges in award money from$1000 to $5000. Students must be in grades 5 through 12 and be engaged in a volunteer activity.

BYU Dept of Goelogical Sciences George Hansen Fellowship Scholarship: Must be a graduating senior, and enroll in geology or earth and space science education major.

Seniors:
USU will be awarding scholarships on-the-spot at their Logan Open House on October 17 from 6-8 pm in the Taggart Student Center.
To receive a scholarship at this event, you must have a college admissions index score of 117 and you must complete a new freshmen USU admissions application beforehand.
There will be a special BeeTime USU admissions help-session on Friday, October 6, in the counseling center for students with a college admissions index of 117 or higher.
This admissions session will prepare you to receive USU’s
scholarships on-the-spot at their Open House.

BEHS Cross Country and the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) have teamed up with schools in northern Utah to support a huge fundraising effort to raise money for our students. Monster Mash Dash 5K race is scheduled for October 14. We would like to encourage you and your families to participate. Registration, if done by Sunday, October 1, is $30. After that date up until the day of the race, the cost is $35. Youth under 12 years old pay only $20. The cost includes a t-shirt!
