New Innovators Selected In The 2017 Intermountain Healthcare Foundry Program

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, USA, October 23, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The 2017 class of new innovations and their entrepreneurs have been selected in the Intermountain Healthcare Foundry Program. The Foundry gives support and assistance to caregivers and their concepts for innovations that can make a significant impact in the healthcare field.

"This year's cohort of Foundry participants embodies Intermountain's commitment to excellence and spirit of innovation," says Bert Zimmerli, executive vice president and chief financial officer. "They identified opportunities — both clinical and operational — where improvement was needed and have successfully implemented innovative solutions. Now those ideas have the potential to further positively impact Intermountain as well as the broader healthcare industry as commercial products and services. We're excited to see how their business ideas develop over the course of the Foundry program."

The 2017 Intermountain Foundry cohort includes:

• Thoughtful Care: A program and database that enables greater transparency around patient care and empowers caregivers to appropriately question care decisions, resulting in fewer unnecessary patient procedures, as well as improved outcomes and reduced costs. Innovator: Erick Ridout, MD, neonatologist and medical director from Intermountain’s Dixie Regional Medical Center.

• icAIR Tracker: A patient engagement tool that facilitates proactive asthma management for adults, thus preventing adverse events including hospitalizations and emergency department visits. Innovators: Kim Bennion, MHS, RRT, system respiratory care quality assurance program manager from Intermountain Healthcare’s Central Office, and Flory Nkoy, MD, MS, MPH, associate research professor for the University of Utah Department of Pediatrics.

• iTrack2: Software and processes for guiding the assessment, design, procurement, and installation of IT devices and infrastructure. Innovators: Mary Gathers, MHA, RT, Information Systems, and Shane Garlick, MS, Intermountain Healthcare project manager.

• OASIS Analytics, Guidance, and Self-Learning Portal: A learning and assessment portal designed to improve Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) OASIS Home Health assessments, administration, and compliance. Innovators: Thomas Risk, MS, instructional designer for Intermountain Homecare and Hospice, and Trisha Martinez, MBA, quality, patient safety, and education director for Intermountain Homecare and Hospice.

The selected Foundry innovators will participate in entrepreneurship modules to refine business ideas, market opportunities, identify product or service needs, and plan for growth.

Press Release: San Juan County Commissioners Issue Statement Regarding Commissioner Lyman’s 10th Circuit Appeal Rejection

San Juan County, UT – Statement on Commissioner Lyman’s 10th Circuit Appeal Rejection

“We express our profound disappointment in the result of the judicial appeal rejection. It seems that the issues Commissioner Lyman tried to bring to light have fallen on deaf ears.

San Juan County requested the BLM grant a title 5 road right of way in Recapture Canyon seven years before the incident in question. Although the BLM was required to answer our request within two years, they ignored it. A failed government bureaucracy with an inability to communicate promptly led to the ATV ride in 2015. This is another example of federal government overreach and unaccountable bureaucracy.”
