Recently, a global trend has caught fire that offers outdoor enthusiasts an upgrade on rest and recreation. It’s called “Glamping”, defined as glamorous-camping. Glamping is the juxtaposition of glitz and rugged, lace and canvas, doilies and burlap. Whether in a tent, yurd, airstream, hut, villa or treehouse, Glamping is an amazing way to experience the great outdoors without sacrificing luxury.
Glamping is offered at high end resorts across the world and usually book at least 1 year in advance. Glamping includes everything from hiking to hammocking; from seclusion and romantic escapes, to family outings and merry chaos.
The high end hide-aways, inspired a movement of women from all across the country to rally together and form Glamping clubs. These frilly fun ladies, leave their husbands at home, pack up the airstream and gain some independence as they spend time in nature with their friends from near and far.
Most Glampers do not use current technology; they rely on vintage treasures such as an old radio or record player for music. They make their coffee from a stainless steel percolator instead of a Keurig machine. Glampers put away their cell phones, ipads and tablets to enjoy one anothers company as they make handmade jewelry, paint, crochet, or play yard games such as croquet, lawn bowling and Posy Pitch.

Glamping was originally designed for weekend getaways but can also be used for; birthday parties, young women's activities, or a family picnic.
So how do you go about setting up a Glamping trip? I prefer to use a few different methods when designing a Glamping trip. I use the 5 senses and the classical elements.
Sight: Beautiful vintage decorations, patterned fabric, and a photo shoot worthy airstream trailer or tent.
Hearing: Charming music coming from a vintage record player. Laughter from simple conversations with friends and children playing.
Taste: Incredible foods such as garden grown fruits and vegetables, gourmet crackers with the finest cheese and macaroons from the local bakery.
Smell: The aromatic smell of wild flowers placed on top of the table or picnic blanket.
Touch: The feel of rocks in your hand as you make one of a kind handmade rock jewelry.
Air - The Rocky Mountains offer a high elevation perfect for star gazing and fresh mountain air.
Earth - Use rocks to make jewelry, twigs to paint, fresh flowers for decorations, or lay on the grass as you read a book while soaking in some sun.
Fire - Light a candle and place it on your dinner table to add charm. Sit with friends around the camp fire to roast marshmallows and tell camp stories.
Water - Swim, wade, or soak your feet as you laugh with your friends.
Glamping provides the perfect photo shoot opportunity! Don’t forget to take your camera! I prefer to use a Polaroid camera and film. I use the exposed polaroid film as decorations on a table or hang it with clothes pics on a line. Using film instead of digital photography adds extra charm to the Glamping experience.
