Hatch Leads the Charge to Confirm Judge Gorsuch
Washington, D.C.—Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee began confirmation hearings for Judge Neil Gorsuch, who has been nominated to serve as a Justice on the United States Supreme Court.
As the longest-serving current member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, this is Senator Hatch’s fourteenth Supreme Court confirmation hearing. Throughout his service on the Committee, Senator Hatch has sought to ensure that confirmation hearings are fair and that questions are focused on a nominee’s qualifications and judicial philosophy. He has likewise fought to preserve the integrity of the judicial branch and keep politics out of the confirmation process by denouncing attempts to mischaracterize a nominee’s record or personal character.
In this spirit, Senator Hatch has dedicated the last two months to make the case for Judge Gorsuch via various platforms—from speeches on the Senate floor and town halls to local and national media appearances.
