Gov. Herbert takes action on remaining bills to conclude signing period

 

SALT LAKE CITY (March 30, 2016) – On the final day of the bill signing period, Gov. Gary R. Herbert finalized work on the remaining 33 bills, taking veto action on six bills, including nine line item vetoes. One law will take effect without the governor’s signature. In total, 453 bills were passed during the 2016 General Legislative Session that required action by the governor.

SALT LAKE CITY – The Appellate Judicial Nominating Commission has selected nominees for two vacancies on the Utah Court of Appeals.  These vacancies result from the retirement of Judge James Davis, effective Nov. 16, 2015 and the confirmation of Judge John Pearce to the Utah Supreme Court, effective Dec. 16, 2015.
