Ogden City is now recruiting volunteers for the 6th annual “Make-A-Difference Day” on May 8, which will be the beginning of a several months-long community effort to clean and beautify the entire city.

SALT LAKE CITY (March 3, 2014) – With political caucuses beginning later this month, Utah’s credit unions have launched the “Ready. Set. Vote.” initiative to increase voter registration and political engagement.

Early Season Wildfires Caused by Private Burning

 Fire officials are issuing a caution as warmer weather arrives. Already this year, a handful of fires that were initially ignited by individuals wanting to clear dead grass or dispose of organic waste have escaped control when they were not being tended and flared up or when unexpected winds carried embers into dry grass.

Jeffrey D. Scott was appointed as a new Box Elder County Commissioner to replace Commissioner Adams, who left to take a position with the State Department of Agriculture.  A special election was held at the Republican convention on the January 25, 2014.  The County officials were contacted regarding the problems they are facing, and Mr. Scott said he thought of potential solutions that could help them and the people of Box Elder County.

Main, Highway 89 in Willard is owned by Greg and Rachelle Arlint.  Their small business is unique in that it specializes in Amish goods.  A walk around the store is a treat as you will find such things as Amish made rockers, quilts, bulk foods, seasonings, candy, canned foods and a deli that serves meats, cheeses, ice cream and sandwiches.   There are many other items of interest and you will find value in the visit to this great little store.

UAC Honors Weber County Commissioner Kerry Gibson

Gibson is the first from Weber County to have received this award.

OGDEN, UTAH, February 19, 2014: One of Weber County’s own took top honors from the Utah Association of Counties (UAC) this past year.  Recently, a selection committee consisting of over 300 county officials across the state selected Commissioner Gibson as the 2013 Overall County Official of the Year.
