Homemade Caramel Sauce

 

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 stick butter (4 Tablespoons)

1/2 cup half-and-half or cream (cream will make it thicker)

1 Tablespoon vanilla

 pinch of salt

Cleaning Fruit – Chemical-free and easy!

Fill sink with water, add 1 cup of vinegar, and stir. Add all fruit, and soak for 10 minutes. Water will be dirty, and fruit will sparkle with no wax or dirty film. Great for berries too, as it keeps them from molding. Do this with strawberries, and they will last for weeks.

Kool-aid ice cubes: Freeze Kool-aid in ice cube trays, then drop them in Sprite. The drink changes flavor as they melt.

            This has been a year of change for the LDS Church. It has been touched with sadness at the loss of three of their beloved apostles--President Boyd K. Packer, Elder L. Tom Perry, and Elder Richard G. Scott. While members did indeed mourn their passing, they waited with much anticipation for the October session of General Conference to hear who would replace the three apostles.
