A vaccine for Alzheimer's could be within reach.

In November, researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center announced that their experimental vaccine had prevented the development of substances associated with Alzheimer's in mice. The scientists hope to start clinical trials in humans soon. If the vaccine lives up to its promise, it could prevent half of dementia cases.

Democrats and Speaker Nancy Pelosi have made it clear they want to transition away from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, even as countries that could pose a serious threat to U.S. security and the economy double-down on their efforts to extract and control fossil fuels.

Upon being reelected speaker, Pelosi claimed she would focus on what she called the "climate crisis" as "an economic decision for America's global preeminence in green technology; a security decision to keep us safe."

    Most of us treat mealtimes as an afterthought. We grab breakfast on the go, inhale fast food lunches at our desks, and squeeze in evening meals amid a flurry of activities. We're lucky if we find time to sit down for Sunday dinner or meet friends for a midweek catch-up meal. But overall, communal eating is the exception, not the rule.
