STRETCH THE SAFETY NET DURING NATIONAL MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS WEEK AND WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

 

Salt Lake City, Utah –– October 5th through the 11th is National Mental Illness Awareness Week, coinciding with World Mental Health Day on October 10th. Encouraging Utahns to take action, the Polizzi Clinic has launched the Stretch the Net campaign to generate awareness and funding for critical psychiatric services that bridge the gap for uninsured Utahns.

Utah State Board of Education names four superintendent finalists

The Utah State Board of Education will interview four finalists for the position of State Superintendent of Public Instruction on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014.

The interviews start at 3:30 p.m. at the Utah State Office of Education, 250 E. 500 South, in Salt Lake City. They will be conducted in open session, and the public is invited. The following individuals will be interviewed:

• John Barge, current Georgia state superintendent

• Martin Bates, current Granite School District superintendent

SALT LAKE CITY (Oct. 3, 2014) – Gov. Gary R. Herbert toured areas of rural Utah recovering from floods that resulted from heavy rains last week.

 

“The amount of water that hit this community in such a short time was remarkable,” said Gov. Herbert. “However, it’s even more remarkable the way the community has come together to clean up the mess, and I’m confident they will be back on their feet very soon.”
