Party delegates will no longer have power to choose candidates for all Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – Last Saturday’s Republican and Democratic Party State Conventions marked the end of an era in Utah elections. Thanks to the historic voter participation agreement forged by Count My Vote and Utah legislators, party delegates will no longer exclusively have power to choose candidates - all Utah voters will have a voice in Utah’s next candidate nomination process.

Supreme Court green lights detention of Americans Lets stand arrests of 'anyone viewed as a troublemaker'

 decision from the U.S. Supreme Court means the federal government now has an open door to “detain as a threat to national security anyone viewed as a troublemaker,” critics of the high court’s ruling said.

The high court by its own order this week refused to review an appellate-level decision that says the president and U.S. military can arrest and indefinitely detain individuals.

The Path to Defend Marriage in U.S. Society Traditional marriage between a man and a woman

Utah defended traditional marriage on April 10th.  Oklahoma scheduled its defense of traditional marriage in the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals (where Utah continued its defense) on April 17th.  The Utah Attorney General’s office believes that other states will continue their defense as well.  There is a widespread belief among legal scholars and officials who want to defend traditional marriage that this issue needs to and probably will end up before the U.S.

United Citizen Task force Grills Candidates and Rally's for 2nd Amendment Rights

               The United Citizen Task force met on April 10th for an impromptu meet the Candidates. They were able to hear from both Jeff Hadfield and Jeff Scott. Both are running for separate commissioner seats in Brigham City. They were also able to hear from Craig Bowden who is running for Congress. Hard questions were asked of all the candidates ranging from what role the government should have to what changes they would like to see made. The crowd was small but enthusiastic.
