Plain City Religion update

Plain City – Plain City 2nd Ward Relief Society were called on for their service August 7th at the Ogden Temple open house. There had been sign–ups for several weeks for volunteers for the evening. The call went out for additional workers to be in the parking lots directing traffic and people. There had been a need for individuals in the temple to push guests who require the use of a wheelchair.

Farr West – Landon Roylance, age 13, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  He is the son of Darren and Michelle Roylance of Farr West.

Maw Equipment Holds Backhoe Rodeo

NORTH OGDEN—On August 7th, with the kickoff of the Weber County Rodeo, competitors brought their delicate touch to showcase their skills at the Maw Equipment Backhoe Rodeo.  Twenty-eight people competed for cash prizes trying to move items such as eggs and bowling pins. The goal was to pick up the objects and place them in the correct spot without breaking them, which is quite the challenge with something as small and breakable as an egg.

Weber County- Do you remember or have ever heard of the Ogden Rodeo Band?  Most of us would say no.  With the Pioneer Days coming up, Jerry Harrop likes to share his knowledge about a piece of history about the band.

The Union Pacific Band was organized for forty years touring the U.P. Railroad system back in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s. The band was composed of local, talented musicians; later becoming the Ogden Rodeo Band.
