North Ogden Business Spotlight - The Cannery

North Ogden - In my travels, I like to find unique shops to visit. The Cannery at 2005 N. Washington Boulevard in North Ogden definitely met my expectations and more! I wandered through the shop and was amazed to find unique décor and furniture, cute clothes, jewelry, kitchen goods, gift baskets, and so much more. They even have Bullfrog spas, fireplaces and a deli.  Mmmmm…sandwiches! Honestly, with food at hand, I’d likely have spent all day there. However, that would have been dangerous to my budget.

Steubanville Colorado Trip for the Youth

North Ogden -“Impressive” is not a word you often hear associated with teenagers.  But for 14 youth from St. James the Just Catholic church in North Ogden (495 N Harrison Blvd.), that is exactly the word that could be used.  While most teens spend their days in idle pursuits, this group of teens has spent their time raising money for the church’s annual trek to a youth conference in Colorado that will take place July 17th and 18th.  The youth are excited to attend a youth conference that offers inspirational talks by Christian speakers, as well as an hour long Adoration.

Public Works Complex – Done Deal at 3 Million & No Debt

North Ogden - North Ogden City (NOC) citizens have a new Public Works Complex (PWC) that was finalized on May 8, 2014, after much controversy over numerous years.  The former NOC elected officials wanted to build a PWC for approximately $10 million dollars (plus interest) that was soundly rejected by the voters in a special referendum and by electing new officials.  The approved contract amount with Lundahl Building Systems, of Logan, Utah, was just under $3 million, to be completed by the end of this 2014 year.  That’s a savings to NOC taxpayers of $7 million! Plus interest!
