Dear Editor - A Second Letter to America

                            A Second Letter to America

By watching the daily news one can clearly see that America is getting farther away from God and still headed straight towards God’s judgment and ultimate destruction.  Too many in America have said “there is no God.”

Carry a Big Stick

“Say what you mean, & mean what you say”, is a phrase often heard uttered but seldom actually heeded in America. When misused, or discarded, it can become confusing, awkward & even perilous. Talking points & statements from U.S. officials should not be exempted from the intent of this well used idiom, especially when planning for possible retaliatory actions. One of our recent senseless U.S. bungles involved our dear friend Syria. There was this “line drawn in the sand” that they were not to cross you see, & if they did, well they better lookout!

Air Quality VS Quality of Life

Recent campaign propaganda by UCAIR is attacking the use of wood burning fireplaces and stoves. They claim that 1 fireplace will produce as much pollution as 90 sport utility vehicles.  I think that all of us are interested in clean air, blue sky and the ability to breathe easily, but somehow the data and comparisons that are presented seem emotionally charged and perhaps flawed. I know that if given the choice I would much rather stand right next to a campfire (burning wood) than next to the tail pipes of 90 SUV’s - especially on a cold day.

Obama vs. Us

Suppose you saw a person driving his car on the wrong side of a highway, against the traffic. Would you call him a stupid and/or incompetent driver? You say, "Williams, what kind of question is that? Of course he's one or the other!" I'd say, "Hold your horses. What are his intentions?" If the driver's intentions are to cause highway calamity, one can hardly call his actions stupid or incompetent. Given his intentions, he is wisely acting in a manner to achieve his objectives.

UTAH—A State of Grace

Is Utah a “State of Grace?” Judging from the interest in fine arts, music, theater, ballet, symphony, and other forms of entertainment, the answer is yes—at least in the secular sense. You can make a case that this is true also in the religious sense with Salt Lake City being headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and with strong representation in most other religions. The word ‘grace’ has several meanings both in religion and secular applications.

Dear Editor, IT is the Season

As we are in the season of giving and thanks... some are again saying, taking care of the poor and needy is a "Christian thing" to do.

I totally agree, but this is "never" to be done via the government. And let me explain the difference for all those well-meaning people who don't understand.

When those in the private sector (churches, NGOs, charitable organizations...) provide for the poor, the sick, the elderly, the mentally incompetent, it is done using voluntary donations. And in such cases both parties benefit greatly.

Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,

We do not have a broken immigration system as some keep asserting. We have a very generous immigration policy... probably the best in the world, actually. We have been allowing a million legal immigrants to come here each year for decades.

It is a fact that it takes years of waiting to be approved... simply because we have millions and millions of foreigners trying to come, legally. These are honest, law-abiding, foreigners who have applied properly and are patiently waiting their turn.

Dear Editor, Renewable energy

to me

I and my wife have been using renewable energy on our home for several years now. We just recently completed the missing link to our system by adding a 4.5 kw PV system. I am quite surprised to see all of these new homes going in and not a single one has any renewable energy installed.

Here are something’s people should be think of,

·         You get to pay for your energy in one lump sum. (For I and my wife that means that we don’t have to worry about paying the light bill for the next 25+ years)
